Privacy & Control
Your camera, your habitat, your rules. We believe transparency about data is not optional — it is the foundation.
Our privacy philosophy
You decide what is seen, shared, and stored
EverydayEarth is built around a simple principle: hosts control their own data. We do not sell your images, we do not mine your footage, and we do not share anything you have not explicitly chosen to make public.
Three tiers of visibility
Clear boundaries, no surprises
What You Control
You have full control over these aspects of your habitat at all times.
- Camera connection settings
- Capture frequency and schedule
- Which habitats are public or private
- When to pause or disconnect
- Image retention and deletion
What's Shared Publicly
Only what you explicitly choose to share is visible to others.
- Public habitat name and description
- Species observations and highlights
- Seasonal stories and recaps
- General location (region, not address)
- Community insights you opt into
What's Never Shared
Some things are never visible to anyone but you. Period.
- Your exact address or coordinates
- Camera IP addresses or credentials
- Raw unprocessed images
- Network configuration details
- Personal account information
Beyond the basics
Built-in safeguards
- Images are processed for wildlife insight, then originals are not retained beyond your chosen window
- No facial recognition or human identification is ever performed
- You can delete your habitat and all associated data at any time
- Private habitats are never indexed, searchable, or visible to other users
- We will never sell or share your images with third parties
